As part of Greener Sysmex CSR project, 22 Sysmex Malaysia staff and our guests from our regional headquarters attended the opening ceremony of Jumble Station Sewing Learning Center in USJ 1, Subang Jaya on 5 July 2013.

Jumble Station, a community outreach initiative of Parents without Partners Bhd, an NGO, was created to raise funds to assist Single Parents in need. In this learning centre Mr Adrian Ong, a well-recognised local fashion designer conducts sewing classes with a minimal fee, for poor housewives and single parents who are keen to learn sewing skills After learning the sewing skills, they can then take tailoring orders and sew to supplement their income.

At this learning centre they will also teach English once a week to single mothers or poor working adults and future plans to include weekly art & craft classes for children.

The event started with a warm welcome speech by Mary Anne Tan (Cofounder), introducing the background of Jumble Station. Mr. Albert Tan, Managing Director of Sysmex Malaysia delivered a speech highlighting Greener Sysmex CSR roles and presented a poster to commemorate Sysmex Malaysia’s sponsorship for the renovation of the Sewing & Learning Centre.

This was followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony officiated by Sysmex Asia Pacific Senior HR Manager, Jumble Station cofounder, Mary Anne Tan and Lioness Club President, Ms Ilene Khoo.

A thankyou gift was presented to Sysmex Malaysia by Lioness Club for the sponsorship of RM3,000 on the renovation cost of the Jumble Station Sewing Learning Center followed by a tea party.

On behalf of Greener Sysmex we like to thank our staff for their generous donations of the used items to Jumble Station with special thanks to Ms Celyn Liew and Mr Sim Chin Seong being the highest contributors.

This event demonstrated the Sysmex Way values of teamwork, passion and flexibility of Sysmex Malaysia’s employees who are committed to make this Greener Sysmex CSR event a great success despite the hot weather on Monday afternoon.
