CSR Activity

The MCO(Movement Control Order or ‘lockdown’) implemented by the Malaysian government as a means to ‘flatten-the-curve’ of Covid-19 pandemic created a very difficult period for the lower income population around the Subang/Sunway area where Sysmex Malaysia (SMA) office is located. For more than two months, these lower income group were unable to work and earn a daily income as almost all businesses were closed due to the social distancing requirements.

To alleviate this tragedy, SMA collaborated with the Lions Club of Subang Jaya to launch a ‘Feed the Hunger” program to provide a least one decent meal to the hungry poor in dire need. In response to this appeal, SMA and its staff raised RM 10,888 / JPY 268,000 which was donated to this Feed the Hunger program, sufficient for more than 6,000 meals to relieve the hunger of the poor.

2020 will be remembered as the year of great challenge. For some of us, Covid-19 took away only our freedom due to the MCO. But for others, they were deprived of their income or worse, theirs and lives of their beloved ones. These lower income group of society were put to test for their survival. SMA employees are gratified we can help to make a difference in their lives.
