Under the Greener Sysmex initiative, SMA organized a recycling drive to collect used clothes and shoes for charity as part of Sysmex’s Corporate Social Responsibility.   Held from August 15^th to 26^th, 2022 , 40 SMA employees participated by collecting a total of 204 kg of clothes and 82 pairs of shoes.  The recycled clothes were sent to Community Recycle for Charity (CRC) while the shoes were sent to EcoKnights as part of their “Give Your Old Soles a New Life” campaign where the donated shoes will be converted to granules to make school playground surface.

​​​​​​​The objective of this activity was to provide the underprivilege with wearable clothing, to increase awareness on clothes donation, as well as to help the environment by reducing the volume of waste clothes and shoes at landfills. Recycling is the process of collecting and processing materials, that would otherwise be thrown away as trash, and turning them into usable products.
