Optical Method-Derived Clot Curve: Introduction and Basic Applications (Open For Registration)
Speaker
Dr Wong Wan Hui, PhD
Principal Medical Laboratory Scientist
Specialised Coagulation Section, Haematology Laboratory
Department of Haematology, Singapore General Hospital
The clot curve is a unique feature of optical-based automated coagulation analysers, such as the Sysmex CN-3000. It assesses the kinetic changes in light transmittance as fibrin is formed in plasma sample during clot-based tests, including routine activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) and prothrombin time (PT) assays. The analysis of the pattern and quantitative parameters associated with the clot curve can be useful to identify errors in sample analysis and indicate clinical tendencies for bleeding and thrombosis. In this webinar, Dr. Wong Wan Hui will introduce the components of CN-derived clot curve, share and discuss some experience in using this feature to identify and troubleshoot analysis errors in the haemostasis laboratory.
